A community printmaking studio in Detroit
CopyCat is a printmaking studio that supports a growing and inclusive printmaking community in Detroit by offering affordable access to professional printmaking equipment, classes, and studio space for anyone to learn and practice printmaking.
I print, you print, we print together
Founded by Angie Coe and Melissa Dettloff, CopyCat is a community printmaking studio dedicated to making printmaking accessible, collaborative, and rooted in Detroit’s creative culture. We provide a welcoming space where artists of all experience levels can create, connect, and continue developing their practice through shared tools, education, and community.
As institutional print programs shrink and private studios become cost-prohibitive, sustained access to printmaking equipment and workspace has become a major barrier, especially for women and others historically underrepresented in traditional print spaces. Many people discover printmaking through a class but have nowhere to continue once it ends.
CopyCat exists to keep printmaking accessible, democratic, and alive in Detroit by providing an affordable, inclusive, professional studio where artists can return, grow, and make work together.
